After years of buying tons of mainstream body care products, we decided to find a way to make every day products that wouldn’t irritate our skin, poison our bodies, or break the bank. When I was younger, my grandmother would use her aloe vera plants to heal our scrapes, for her facial routine witch hazel and rose water was the secret remedy. I still have memories of walking with my father watching him chop down sugar cane stalks so I could try a piece of Louisiana’s “best sweetener”.
When looking at labels of skin care products my brain would go into ingredient overload, I never knew what I was putting on my body until I started to do research and find out that something may sound harmless but in reality it’s the total opposite. I quickly realized that an “all natural” label doesn’t usually refer to most the ingredients inside, in fact, it may refer to just one or two of them.
